"When that I was and a little tiny boy,
With a hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
A foolish thing was but a toy,
For the rain it raineth every day.

But when I came to man's estate,
With a hey, ho, the wind and the rain
Gainst knaves and thieves men shut their gate
For the rain it raineth every day....

...A great while ago the world begun
With a hey, ho, the wind and the rain
But that's all one, our play is done,
And we'll strive to please you everyday."

Happy Christmas!

Christmas at the Doll House.

JennyAnyDots and I got this doll house for Christmas three or four years ago. It has since passed on to the First Years, and yesterday they decorated it for Christmas (with JAD's help).

This is the Doll family around their Christmas tree. I suppose they are awaiting Santa Doll. The tree is very nice, but FYG took the pictures, and it's kind of hard to see. They even have tiny presents under it.

I suppose this would be the Doll Family's Santa. He seems to have lost the majority of his reindeer. Or does Santa Doll only have one, because he's so small?

Hmmm

Well, I feel like I should post something, but unfortunately, I am on the computer that has almost none of my pictures. *sigh*
Well, anyway, now that my good friend MerryK has gotten a blogger account, complete with a blog, she can comment on mine. :P

"I am an orphan. So are the others, but they are not as orphan as I am. I am extremely frequent." A. A. Milne, "Those Were the Days."
The set of short stories that is from would make an excellent movie, with actors like Hugh Laurie.

Lonely...

I was just taking a normal picture of Zeus when he decided to shake himself all over. This was the result.

I had only seen humans stick out their tongue at the camera before today.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

A bird's nest

The spirits of the air live on the smells
Of fruit; and joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees."
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat;
Then rose, girded himself, and o'er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.

- William Blake, To Autumn

Pokeberry

Autumn arrives, array'd in splendid mein;
Vines, cluster'd full, add to the beauteous scene,
And fruit-trees cloth'd profusely laden, nod,
Complaint bowing to the fertile sod.
- Farmer's Almanac (1818)

Shagbark hickory

The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.
- Emily Dickinson

Watch for Bear crossing

My other nickname is Bear. Hence the "Watch for Bear crossing."
